5 Ways Students Can Earn Extra Cash

By Enero Febrero

After going to classes and studying for tests, most college students don’t have a lot of extra time available to make extra cash. And although websites like paper cheap can save money for students without a lot of time, saving cash is not the same as making cash.

So if you’re a student who is searching for ways to get a few extra bucks in your wallet without disturbing your college routine or work load, then check out these tips.

Rent out Your Extra Room

If you have an additional room or even extra space on your couch, you can rent it out continuously on Airbnb to help pay the rent.

Obviously, getting another roommate would help ease your monthly rent payments even more, but if you’re experiencing difficulty discovering somebody reliable or you essentially have some additional room amid school breaks, renting your space on a short term basis could give a lift in your income.

Sell Your Unused Stuff

If you’ve got a lot clothes that you never wear — or junk drawers full of items you’ve long overlooked — you can sell them for extra cash.

Rent Your Textbooks

The only thing less expensive than purchasing used college text books is renting college textbooks for the short amount of time that you need them. Sites like CampusBookRentals will lease you any college textbooks that you need for half to 80% off their new prices — and best of all, they provide you with a prepaid mailer, so you can return them when you’re done with your classes toward the end of the semester.

Drive for Lyft or Uber

If you own a vehicle, driving for a car sharing service can be an incredible side-hustle for students. As an added bonus, you can set your own hours, so it won’t interfere with your classes and study time. That being said, it’s important to consider that the additional mileage you run up on your vehicle will probably result in extra maintenance costs, so it may not be for everybody.

Take Part in Clinical Trials or Research Studies

If you’re really desperate, you can get paid for being a guinea pig by taking an interest in clinical trials and research studies. In fact, there are numerous colleges, doctor’s facilities, and centers that offer paid research openings. Sites like CenterWatch.com and ClinicalTrials.gov give access to available databases and thorough postings of any accessible open doors around the world. Just be sure you understand what you’re getting into before you give your consent.
