3 Productivity Hacks That Everybody Needs to Know

By Sabado Domingo

With the hustle culture of the 21st century being more prominent than ever, more and more people are feeling the pressure to take on larger workloads.

We’re told that if we want to achieve success, we need to put in a lot of hard work and determination; we need to hustle our way to the top.

While this is true to an extent, your workload can be much easier to handle if you adopt productivity hacks.

A key component to reaching your goals is productivity, which is a measure of your performance based on input, output, and effort.

Productivity hacks are the shortcuts or tricks that streamline this process; the things that decrease the input and increase the output so you can get more done within a set period of time.

So, what are some great productivity hacks that you can use to boost your output, whether it’s in your personal or professional life? Here are some great hacks for you to try:

Invest in High-Quality Technology

Your technology makes all the difference when it comes to productivity. The 21st century is filled with amazing equipment that can make your job much easier. Machines were designed for that exact reason!

Technology can be used across various aspects of your everyday life or your business. For example, the latest mobile phones make taking incredible photos easy. High-quality scanners make scanning documents, invoices, and photos as simple as possible.

Find ways to incorporate technology into your life to increase your efficiency and streamline your tasks.

Automate Where You Can

Technology can be used to automate iterative tasks. This is particularly helpful if you own a business that performs many repetitive, tedious tasks that take up a lot of time and money for humans to complete.

For example, pipetting solutions in a lab or analyzing customer data to produce trends and targeted ads. These tasks can be performed much more efficiently by automation software.

Not only this, but machines are less likely to make detrimental errors in the task, which could save you more time and money fixing any mistakes.

Streamlining your iterative processes frees up your time and your employee’s time to complete the more complex tasks that require more skill and thought.

Give Yourself a Break

Productivity decreases the longer you’re working. If you refuse to take a break and, instead, you work from morning to night, it’s likely that you’re going to burn out very quickly.

Humans need regular breaks in order to remain productive. Research shows that taking a 5-10 break every 50-60 minutes of doing work is optimal for productivity. This allows your brain and body the time to rest and reset, ready to resume work once again.

It might seem counterintuitive to stop working if you have a huge list of tasks to complete. However, if you aren’t taking frequent breaks, you may start to lose concentration or make more mistakes in your work.

This can set you back even further and add unnecessary additions to your already stressful, jam-packed workload, leading to a huge decrease in your productivity.
