Fun with Chicken McNuggets

By Len Penzo

This is a very exciting time for me because today I am dipping into the mailbag and sharing a letter with you for the first time. You know, I receive numerous letters each week and I always love to hear what my readers are thinking. Okay, actually I don’t receive any letters — but play along with me anyway.

Yes, it’s very humbling to read letters from those of you who think I am the greatest thing since sliced bread. So, please pardon me while I take a moment to properly recognize both of them…

Thank you, Mom and Dad!

And with that, here is today’s “letter:”

“Is there any truth to the rumor that McDonald’s is following the lead of the US Treasury’s successful state quarters campaign with a similar one for Chicken McNuggets?”

Funny you should ask. Coincidentally, just the other day my daughter came across this little gem in her Chicken McNuggets ten-pack. Before she could eat it I had the Honeybee grab a camera and snap a picture for posterity.

Take a look at the photo. I don’t know about you, but that sure looks like Connecticut to me.

I’m lovin’ it!

I don’t know if McDonald’s has launched a “State McNuggets” program featuring a series of collectible chicken nuggets depicting the geographic shapes of each of the American states, but if they have, they sure aren’t advertising it!

I think we need to catalog more instances of Chicken McNuggets that look like the 50 United States of America, don’t you? Please send me pictures of any other state McNuggets you come across and I will post them here!

Just for the heck of it, I’ll also accept photos of nuggets resembling Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Canadian provinces. 🙂

And please, people! All nuggets must be unaltered from their original form in order to be considered.

I looks like a cartoon speech bubble to me. Imagine Garfield standing underneath the McNugget, with the shape of the McNugget signifying words coming from his mouth.

All I want to say is, “Thank you, Paula.”

I’m so glad that, after three long and lonely years, somebody finally cared enough to leave a comment on this silly little post. 🙂
