As the sky dims and the light fades and the cold earth calls us home
In our old age we love still in a way of a heartfelt poem
Our mate is still a lovely sight,
envisioned day and night
The beauty in the aged lines tell
the face of one who’s lived well
And we smile on the young, with care
who will, one day, be there

Nice, Dave. But around our house? We keep looking at the other person, wondering who they are.
RD Blakeslee says
Well, Gee, maybe that’s because the the sky’s dimming and the light’s fading?

Mr. Dave, I think about this poem many times a day.
I lovingly think about the young, and keep them in my prayers.
RD Blakeslee says
Bill, you remind me of Elaine. Her chronicles will appear here on Len Penzo, before long.
She loved poetry and was deeply affected by it.
