Boulding<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>It&#8217;s really amazing that in the age of unbelief, there isn&#8217;t even more fraud. After all, with no God, there&#8217;s no one to ever call you to account &#8212; and no accounting at all if you can get away with it.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>&#8212; Ben Stein<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Credits and Debits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Debit:<\/strong><\/span> Did you see this? There is now an official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/markets\/meijer-supermarkets-stop-accepting-cash-nationwide-coin-shortage-erupts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coin shortage in the US<\/a>. No, really. Apparently, the Fed has been rationing coins as their circulation tailed off during the pandemic. For now, the biggest impact is in the Midwest, where Meijer supermarket&#8217;s self-scan checkout machines now only accept credit and debit cards, EBT cards, and gift cards. Just when you thought 2020 couldn&#8217;t get any stranger.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Debit:<\/strong><\/span> Of course, more than a few people are saying that this &#8220;coin shortage&#8221; is actually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2020-05-26\/digital-world-without-cash-post-the-coronavirus-pandemic\/12282856\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an opening gambit<\/a> toward the eventual ban of <strong><em>all<\/em><\/strong> cash transactions. Maybe. But even if it&#8217;s not, the twisted logic of a company refusing to accept even exact change in the middle of a coin shortage is, well &#8230; to be kind, let&#8217;s just say &#8220;unexpected.&#8221; Although, to be honest, I&#8217;m not sure if it&#8217;s actually as unexpected as <em><strong>this<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lc-iLFaZAkI?controls=0&amp;start=1;end=44\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Debit:<\/strong><\/span> Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefelderreport.com\/2020\/06\/24\/the-biggest-disconnect-between-prices-and-profits-in-stock-market-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stock prices today are more expensive<\/a> than they were during the peak of the Dot Com bubble 20 years ago &#8212; but you probably already had an inkling that was the case. In fact, the current disconnect between stock prices and sustainable profits is greater than at any other time in modern history. As usual, asset manager Sven Henrich sums up the current situation perfectly &#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Powell: We&#8217;re very concerned<br \/>\nFauci: It&#8217;s going to be very disturbing<br \/>\nWHO: The worst is yet to come<br \/>\nInvestors: Fuck it, let&#8217;s buy everything into quarter end.<\/p>\n<p>Sven Henrich (@NorthmanTrader) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NorthmanTrader\/status\/1278055269101076480?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 30, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Debit:<\/strong><\/span> Curiously, according to Yelp, &#8220;Of all business closures on Yelp since March 1, 41% are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yelpeconomicaverage.com\/yelp-coronavirus-economic-impact-report.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">permanent closures<\/a>.&#8221; Uh huh. Permanent. Apparently, the stock market is unaware of this, as well as the impact all of these closed businesses will have on the rest of the economy. After all, its kind of hard to have a V-recovery when so many small businesses have closed their doors for good.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Debit:<\/strong><\/span> With that in mind, you can bet it&#8217;s no coincidence that since 2017 the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has given <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/finance\/504842-the-tale-of-a-global-debt-crisis-foretold\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a score of warnings<\/a> suggesting an upcoming monetary crisis. This week they did it <em><strong>again<\/strong><\/em>, saying the US and Eurozone GDPs are expected see 8% and 10% declines this year, respectively. And if you think that&#8217;s optimistic, you&#8217;re right; these are the same analysts who bring a book to read for an eye dilation test.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Credit:<\/strong><\/span> As Charles Hugh Smith observes, &#8220;Once you allow your economy to become dependent on extremes of debt, leverage, inequality, legalized looting, monopoly, pay-to-play politics and speculative asset bubbles, <a href=\"http:\/\/charleshughsmith.blogspot.com\/2020\/06\/the-depression-dominoes-are-toppling.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a depression is inevitable<\/a>. The only question is &#8220;when?&#8221; And that&#8217;s been answered, although nobody wants to hear it: 2020 and beyond.&#8221; And for those who prefer pictures, Charles cleverly illustrates exactly how the depression dominos will fall:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-61733\" src=\"http:\/\/lenpenzo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/dominos-falling-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"532\" height=\"587\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lenpenzo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/dominos-falling-3.jpg 540w, https:\/\/lenpenzo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/dominos-falling-3-272x300.jpg 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 532px) 100vw, 532px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Debit:<\/strong><\/span> By the way, in 1981 total US federal spending was less than $700 billion. Compare that to the last 90 days: the US government has borrowed nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/internationalman.com\/articles\/david-stockman-on-what-could-happen-if-the-fed-loses-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">four times that amount<\/a> &#8212; nearly $3 trillion! Keep in mind that it took the US more than 200 years to run up its first trillion in debt. Now it&#8217;s occurring almost every month.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Debit:<\/strong><\/span> First billions; now trillions. Frankly, you&#8217;d be forgiven if you thought &#8220;the Q-word&#8221; &#8212; quadrillions &#8212; was just around the corner. That&#8217;s because in late 2017, Michigan State Economics Professor Mark Skidmore discovered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/kotlikoff\/2019\/01\/09\/holding-u-s-treasuries-beware-uncle-sam-cant-account-for-21-trillion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$21 trillion of unaccounted debt<\/a>. In other words: additional spending <em><strong>on top of<\/strong><\/em> the current $26 trillion National Debt. I know; but, unfortunately, it gets worse &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Credit:<\/strong><\/span> Skidmore recently revealed that his latest research shows the US Treasury market is rolling over $90 trillion per year in hidden debt &#8212; which suggests the <em><strong>true<\/strong><\/em> National Debt could be as high as $123 trillion. &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/usawatchdog.com\/is-us-debt-really-90-trillion-mark-skidmore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Something is really, really wrong<\/a>,&#8221; Skidmore says. &#8220;And it&#8217;s not just bad accounting. It&#8217;s concerning because people could lose confidence in the currency.&#8221; Heh. Ya think? In the meantime, maybe this guy can help the government accountants:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/brrASmHQV-8?controls=0&amp;start=10;end=80\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Credit:<\/strong><\/span> As Jim Quinn notes, &#8220;The economic shutdown provided <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theburningplatform.com\/2020\/06\/28\/boiling-point\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the perfect cover<\/a> for the Fed to generate $10 trillion out of thin air to rescue their owners and the corporate interests. The plebs were thrown $1200, while small businesses had to beg, borrow, and steal to survive. Eliminating the creative destruction of capitalism has destroyed free markets; (now) the big get bigger, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.&#8221; Imagine that.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Credit:<\/strong><\/span> Quinn&#8217;s assessment is correct, of course. Which is why, asset manager Egon VonGreyerz warned this week that, &#8220;The world is on the verge of a <a href=\"https:\/\/kingworldnews.com\/greyerz-the-silver-maginot-line-will-fall-and-the-price-of-silver-will-explode\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">financial system implosion<\/a>. Just a small crack could push the whole system into a black hole. All that&#8217;s needed is a second coronavirus wave or a bank collapse.&#8221; Psst. That&#8217;s kind of like saying all that&#8217;s needed is the sun to rise in the east and set in the west.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Credit:<\/strong><\/span> The bottom line is this: It&#8217;s only a matter of time before at least one of those catalysts finally arrives &#8212; which is why it&#8217;s important that you <a href=\"https:\/\/tweakyourbiz.com\/business\/press-release\/atom-finance-review-check-out-this-review-before-trading\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">take advantage of the current period<\/a> of relative financial calm to insure your wealth &#8212; while you still can. After all, everybody knows they can&#8217;t buy home insurance when their house is on fire. Likewise, when the monetary system finally <em><strong>does<\/strong><\/em> melt down, well &#8230; physical gold and silver won&#8217;t be available either. At <em><strong>any<\/strong><\/em> price.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By the Numbers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The end of the second quarter of 2020 is behind us &#8212; which also means the year is officially half over.
