He imagined a man who walked about the country telling everyone he met: “I wish we could all live Martin Luther King’s dream where we didn’t see anyone’s skin color anymore.”<\/p>\n

Grandfather imagined the man started attracting the attention of the movers and shakers after awhile.<\/p>\n

Investigative reporters dug up things he had said that were “racist.”<\/p>\n

Community leaders who were preoccupied with their position said he was “a tool of the establishment.”<\/p>\n

Politicians asked him what he proposed to do about it.<\/p>\n

College professors<\/a> asked him if he didn’t know that “multiculturalism” was now widely accepted.<\/p>\n

Women “activists” said he was ignoring the problem of “sexism.”<\/p>\n

To all of them he would simply say, “I wish we could all live Martin Luther King’s dream where we didn’t see anyone’s skin color anymore.”<\/p>\n

No more than that, ever.<\/p>\n

Grandfather says he imagined they never did put that man in a box, until he died.<\/p>\n
