Because credit card interest rates can be as much as 20% or more, it&#8217;s extremely important to pay off your credit card debt as fast as possible. That&#8217;s why!<\/p>\n<p>Of course, this can seem especially challenging when your debt is spread out across multiple cards. The good news is, with the right battle plan, tackling credit card debt is a surprisingly manageable proposition.<\/p>\n<p>Generally speaking, there are two basic strategies for retiring credit card debt:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paying off credit cards with the smallest balances first<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is commonly referred to as <a href=\"https:\/\/lenpenzo.com\/blog\/id5794-100-words-on-the-smartest-way-to-eliminate-your-credit-card-debt-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the snowball method<\/a> because it retires balances from smallest to largest without regard to interest rates. This creates the illusion that you&#8217;re making quicker progress. But while the snowball methods psychological gimmickry may motivate some people, it doesn&#8217;t make a lot of financial sense.
