Not in an academic kind of way, but in a financial one. Yes, kids have financial fears too! That&#8217;s because there are certain things that terrify me about growing up and living on my own. Here is a list of the top five financial fears that make a kid like me nervous for the future:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paying taxes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The thought of paying taxes absolutely terrifies me. I don&#8217;t know if its because Im afraid I wont pay them off or some other reason. The word &#8220;taxes&#8221; itself sends shivers up my spine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Budgeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My dad has always told me and my brother that it&#8217;s important to always spend less than you earn. I can understand that. But what if I can&#8217;t? <a href=\"https:\/\/lenpenzo.com\/blog\/id6093-how-i-save-money-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I&#8217;ve been a good saver<\/a> in the past, but it&#8217;s getting harder as I get older. I know I need self-control, but if I&#8217;m starting to lose that now, what makes me think that I&#8217;ll have it in the future?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Going into debt<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not being able to afford my house, my car, or anything else I enjoy seems really scary. Going into debt is a big reason why I don&#8217;t ever want to move out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forgetting to pay bills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You know, I never really worried about paying bills until my dad told me that if you don&#8217;t pay them, sometimes people can take your stuff away. What if I forget to pay them? I&#8217;d hate to lose my house or a car. I&#8217;ve made some mistakes in my life, but forgetting to pay a bill would be the worst.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Losing my job<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I want to be a vet when I&#8217;m older. But if I don&#8217;t have <a href=\"https:\/\/lenpenzo.com\/blog\/id9796-my-daughters-latest-business-venture.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my own business<\/a>, and I end up working for somebody else, I could lose my job. No job equals no money. No money means I can&#8217;t pay my taxes and bills. Unpaid taxes and bills will lead to an unhappy life.<\/p>\n<p>I think its good for me to be thinking like this because it makes me open my eyes and I&#8217;ll be more aware of what&#8217;s going on. And I want to be successful in life. So <a href=\"https:\/\/lenpenzo.com\/blog\/id14645-no-im-not-rich-but-i-am-financially-free-heres-how-i-got-there-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I want to be financially free<\/a> like the people I&#8217;m surrounded by everyday. I know that if I want to overcome my financial fears, I&#8217;ll need to prepare myself.<\/p>\n<p>I think I can do it.
